Ummm…what happened to January? It truly zipped by when I blinked. January is a month to start fresh with the new year. Did I get a good start? No! Did I even start? Nope!
I’ve decided to start my new year, 2018…today. So hello 2018. And hello February. Been facing some ups and downs, but still willing to embrace a new beginning. My hope is to continue to keep everything sweet and simple so my heart and home will always be blessed.
What has been an issue is that we are still waiting for the contractor to come put down our new flooring. The nightmare continues. It all started in 2016. You can read about it in this post here.
So I’m still dealing with the subfloor, some filth, and furniture out of place and shoved into every nook and cranny we could find. Not much organization there. Just dealing with a little chaos.
In the meantime, we did manage to put up plank wood ceilings in the living room and hall. Might as well with the house all torn up. I’ll share photos. Someday when I can.
Will be looking forward to that new flooring to go with our new ceiling!!! What else will be happening in February? Here are some of my ideas…
~ I began some sourdough starter this morning. I miss smelling and tasting those wonderful loaves of bead with that tang of sourdough that I used to make. Sourdough can be quite an experience. One that I do enjoy.
~ I will begin mentoring with an accomplished beekeeper. Did I tell you I lost all my bees during that terrible cold spell? I prepared them the best I could for winter as they were a very weak hive. I will be getting new bees in April.
~ I will do some spring cleaning. I like to clean out cupboards, drawers, closets, etc. while it is cold outside. If it warms up just a little, I’m outside working. There is so much to do out there with cleanup, bee prep, and getting a good start in the garden. I love me some spring weather.
So there ya have it. My February. How will your February look?
