Be Still Sunday 24

‘Be still and know that I am God.’ ~ Psalms 46:10

Good Sunday morning. It’s raining here. It’s been raining for 2 days now and I have to wear my boots every time I walk out the door. But that is okay. I’ll take a rainy day over heaps of snow and freezing temps. Any day.

During the winter months, no matter what the weather, it is the perfect time to slow down and get your creative vibe going. I enjoy creating. It brings me comfort. It slows me down and brings meaning to who I am.

I just have to say something here. Forgive me ahead of time, but I’m just plain old fashioned as I don’t understand the obsession with cell phones these days. There is so much more that we can do with our hands. Pick up a book. How about knitting needles and beautiful yarn? Why not learn hand stitching? Or get a camera and see and share the beauty around you. Just sayin’. So many possibilities out there. Embrace them and let them bring joy to your life.

My heart and home are feeling blessed…

~ by creating and playing in my kitchen. I never thought about it much, but I was told (by extended family) that I was known as the baker when we come together over food. I’ll take that label. I enjoy giving my baked goods as gifts. I’ll be making peanut butter cookies tomorrow to give as valentine gifts this week. Of course, I’ll be making them in the shape of hearts.

~ by creating through crafting. I make signs along with wooden pumpkins, hearts, stars, angels, and such. I’ll soon be working with metal. During this dreary winter, I’m also looking into doing some embroidery work. My grandma used to create pieces of art with her hand stitching. She once had me draw on the edge of a pillowcase. I drew flowers and butterflies. She then embroidered it and gave it to me. I still have that pillowcase.

~ by expressing myself through my blog and with my camera. It gives me a chance to connect with others and share my experiences. Now I keep things here pretty simple. Don’t like to over complicate things as simple pleasures are always the best.

Speaking of such…just a reminder of my sweet and simple giveaway. If you wish to enter, please go here. Winner will be announced February 14.

Be blessed,

  1. Cindy, I do love my phone, but yes; we need to step away from it now and then! I just finished embroidery redwork Kewpies and sewed them into a runner. So much more to do with our hands than flip through a phone. 🙂 Started reading a book yesterday as well. Something I have been a bit slacking at doing lately.
