Be Still Sunday 7

‘Be still and know that I am God.’ ~ Psalm 46:10

Sunrise at Grand Canyon

Good Sunday morning! I hope you have been blessed this week and/or have found ways to bless others. You never know what kind word or gesture may make a drastic difference in someone’s life.

Today, I am feeling my heart and home blessed…

~seeing two deer in our back yard yesterday. I so enjoy the adventures and the behavior of wildlife. We don’t see deer very often in our yard as they don’t venture off that far from the wooded areas. So it was a treat to have such guests visit us. They are welcome anytime.

~for seeing the movie, ‘The Shack’ this week. I read the book. I couldn’t put it down. My sister hated the book so it probably isn’t for everyone. But…my heart was open to receive the message and see our connection to God when it can sometimes be so difficult with so much hurt in this world. I will again read the book and watch the movie. Some day. Soon.

~because of vinagator. Hmmm…don’t know what that is? Here’s a clue: you can put it on salad along with oil for a dressing. Just having fun here. Vinagator is my two year old granddaughter’s version of vinegar. She asked for vinagator to be put on her salad. When you tell her to say vinegar, it comes out vinagator every time. I like her version of the word much better.

My thoughts and prayers…

~are with those affected by the fires in California. I can’t even wrap my mind around such devastation and the pain it is causing. Offering up prayers to all.

~I also want to give thanks to the first responders who put their life on the line to help others in need. And also to the ordinary citizens who step up and help where they can. They are our real super heroes. May God bless them and keep them safe.

Sunday Blessings,

  1. Thank you!! I’ve had similar blessings. Always feel blessed to see deer in my yard. This week I started putting out unshelled peanuts for birds and squirrels and they’ve started visiting my deck again! Yea!! I didn’t like the book but Ive seen the movie three times and love it! The message that God loves everyone !!! All the best to you, your family and your readers this week!! Liz

  2. Loved this post … so calming yet inspirational.

I too am praying for those affected by the wildfires in California. I have a good friend living in the Bay area and it’s too close for comfort, but as of now she’s still fine. My heart breaks for all those who have lost their homes.
