Happy Spring, A Better Pickin’ Season!

First of all…

Happy Spring Day to y’all!

It fills one with hope and wonderful things to come, doesn’t it?

Sigh. It has been a long hard winter and I’m looking forward to spending some time outdoors.

I think my garden missed me and I’m looking forward to getting reacquainted with it.

It seems like I haven’t been on here much. Lots happening here.

My shop needs some new merchandise listed to make it more exciting again.

Let me tell you, that is another reason the coming of spring is a blessing.

It’s a better pickin’ season which makes for a better shop.

Now I do have some things hidden away here and there that are patiently waiting for me.

I’ll be working on getting them listed so they can find new homes soon.

It’s funny how I find things that I have completely forgotten about that I have previously picked.

Like these cool brass cow tags. I came across them stuffed in a bag on a shelf.

I immediately listed two of the five I had and they quickly sold.

They were bought by another blogger who makes some really cool upcycled items.

I’ll probably list two more of the cow tags soon, but I’ve decided that I need/must keep one for myself. What I like is that these tags each have the old, rusty chain that actually went around the cow’s neck which are harder to find these days. I have a few ideas on what and where I want my tag to go. Once I decide, I’ll have to share.

Just yesterday, I had a sale for three rustic items which are going to CA. The customer emailed me her concerns on how I was going to package two pitchforks and a wheel. No problem. Actually, it will be a piece of cake. Way back when, I shipped a cast iron fireplace surround to CA. Well, I should say we as hubby had to build a wooden box for it. It was a really cool piece. That surround is one thing (out of many) that I really, really wish I had kept. It was salvaged out of an old home that was being torn down and had its own personal private history. What’s funny is that the person who bought it had no clue what she wanted to do with it. She just had to have it. Can you relate?

Well, time to get busy. So much to do and never a dull moment.

Wishing you a warm and wonderful weekend!!!

  1. I have some of those old brass cow tags, Cindy. They came from the stock yard where my father used to go to sell calves and cattle on a Monday afternoon. They still have the fabric "halters" attached to them.

What a great old surround. I would have had a hard time parting with it, too. Wonder what the lady ever did with it?! xo Diana

  2. Cindy, Those are unique finds. I love the fireplace surround. Hope you are getting some nice spring weather. It was a long time coming …but oh boy I am ready. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  3. Hi Cindy, those are really great treasures. I have never paid attention to cow tags, although I'm sure I've seen them. I wonder what that lady did with the cast-iron fireplace surround. Wow, I sure would know what to do with it..Happy Spring Day..Judy

  4. Hi Cindy, I love the cow tags and look forward to seeing how you use the one you are keeping.
The fireplace surround is a great treasure. I can see why the lady had to have it but wonder how it ended up being displayed.
